Mr. Concorde, [Sep 11, 2021 at 8:41:37 AM]:
Let's get started

Q1. Can you briefly describe what Barbershop finance is all about?

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 8:43:28 AM]:
Barbershop is a new yield farm on polygon. By using different terminology and a smooth interface we are hoping to introduce people to yield farming in a new light.

The longer you keep your hair in a shave or cut the longer it grows, then when you go visit the shop you start over and grow again. A shave is quick and efficient (one coin), a cut meanwhile requires you to pair 2 coins together. Down the road, we would like to take this concept and have specific names for different farms.

The potential around $HAIR and barbershop-themed ideas from initial cuts to non-fungible cuts are endless. Think of Barbershop as a place where you can go to hang out and get rewarded with $HAIR in the process!

Mr. Concorde, [Sep 11, 2021 at 8:44:34 AM]:
That's so awesome! I love the idea of growing your $HAIR stack just like real hair

Good branding right there

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 8:44:53 AM]:
That’s the idea, making yield farming more relatable!

It’s always hard to get new people to break into the concept and understand the importance of allocating your capital efficiently

Mr. Concorde, [Sep 11, 2021 at 8:45:52 AM]:
It is, but once people start to understand it can go fast🚀

Q2. What are your main features that distinguish you from other projects and what competitive advantages does Barbershop have?

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 8:50:07 AM]:
We are working on some new concepts that aren’t out yet/ we have yet to see other yield farms incorporate. This will help burn more tokens. I can’t give too much detail as this has just been started. Being less than a month old, our main focus so far has been bringing in partners and launching our shaves (less than a week ago). We have also added games via treasure key and are working on UI enhancements.

In terms of competitive advantages, we have many great partners from Apeswap to polycrystal and now Pearzap, and plan on continuing to grow this list!

We are a small team and are growing with the community. As we grow and start wearing more specific hats, this frees up time for more dev work and we have so many ideas to tackle!

Mr. Concorde:
Thats an amazing list of partners to have and this should be the main initial focus imo💪

Treasurekey is a really nice addition to the project as well

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 8:51:48 AM]:
The games are fun. It was an easy integration to provide the first use case of utility for $HAIR

And it’s a strong community as well!

Mr. Concorde, [Sep 11, 2021 at 8:52:05 AM]:
exactly🥳 and now you have shaves too

MasterFu:

The shaves have been a great ad and have opened more doors!

Mr. Concorde, [Sep 11, 2021 at 8:53:15 AM]:
Q3. How has the experience and background of your team been effective in the success of Barbershop finance?

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 8:54:35 AM]:

Our team is very small and has been supported by admins and other community members and growing based on people that believe in the project. Our full focus has always been growing organically. In terms of the team itself, we have been in the crypto space for the last 5 years and developing in the defi space for the past 7 months. Although this is our first farm, we have learned a lot from others and base a lot of our decisions on this experience.

In terms of coding in general- barber has been a software engineer for 10+ years and has picked up solidity extremely quickly. I work on the front end and have been in the space for about 6 years. We both enjoy working on new concepts so we encourage anyone to stop by the shop with suggestions.

Mr. Concorde, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:00:09 AM]:
That's amazing, loads of experience there

Q4. What kind of marketing initiatives do you use to help build awareness for the Barbershop platform?

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:05:17 AM]:
We plan on working on all the main streams- Twitter, YouTube, ad placements, finding influences, etc… But we are also working on trying to bring actual use case marketing such as finding the first shop to actually accept $HAIR for a cut or shave. We have one of our community members filming a rap inside a barbershop! Looking forward to it!

Additionally, we are one of the sponsors at Polycon- a huge immersive VR experience where we have a booth and will be sponsoring the cornhole tournament. It should be a really fun event and a good way to interact with other players in the ecosystem and engage in partnerships and more cross-marketing.

We actually just put up an ad today at https://www.cryptostache.com/

We are trying to really grow through influencers that love hair

Mr. Concorde, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:06:41 AM]:
Woo, that’s amazing! That real-world utility would be hot! I would pay in $HAIR at my local barber.

Make sure to send the rap video clip in here when it's ready, can’t wait to see it

We have some occasional rap battles in here as well. But so far nobody was able to beat the one and only Mr C

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:07:28 AM]:
Gotta ask next time you go! You never know what they would say!

Mr. Concorde, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:07:38 AM]:
I can’t wait to see you at POLYCON, we will be there as well💪

Just got it confirmed while we were in this AMA😋

Mr. Concorde, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:07:59 AM]:
Q5. Could you please provide some progress on your Roadmap and tell the PearZap community what was achieved so far?

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:08:08 AM]:
Can’t wait to see you there, stop by the booth!

Mr. Concorde, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:08:18 AM]:
Will do for sure!

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:14:22 AM]:
In terms of the roadmap, we have our contracts audited by hashex, added games via treasure key (first burning mechanism and use case for hair), added in our shaves contract (audited by techrate), and made many small changes suggested by the community. We have brought on many partners and are in talks with several others or have partnerships lined up that we are waiting to announce.

We have been able to accomplish a lot in a short month, but this is just the beginning. The strongest key to any project in the crypto space is growing the community. Our community is a fun place and we have a lot of members who have stepped up and provided good ideas and advice. If anyone is interested in working with us, we are always looking for new members who can provide value so stop by and shoot us a message introducing yourself and why you would be a good fit.

Mr. Concorde, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:17:21 AM]:
Alright @MasterFu_Barber please pick 5 questions😎

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:17:31 AM]:
Thank you!

Do you have any plans to attract non-crypto investors to join your project? Because the success of a project attracts more investors who haven’t yet entered the crypto world. What are the plans to raise awareness about your project in the non-crypto space?

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:21:21 AM]:
This is a huge reason we went with a concept that we felt could be easily explained to people who have not explored yield farming. Rather than the typical farms, everyone is aware of growing their own hair and when you cut it, it grows back. We plan on putting together a series of youtube videos explaining yield farming in this new light. Impermanent loss is a subject that confuses many getting into the space and by explaining it using hair I think we can help educate new users.

Most “hot” new defi farming projects tend to amass a strong following at the start and as a result, upon launch, we see the token undergo a quick surge in price — typically followed by a hard selloff given manipulators capitalizing on the benefits of high APR yields early on. $HAIR seemed to be more of a “stealth” launch — the contract release was relatively quieter and the initial Telegram group was very small. Instead, the project seems to focus on more organic marketing and growth to build momentum over time. Was this intentional / how does the team see the benefits of this particular approach if so?

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:27:07 AM]:
Stealth launch has been our plan since day 1. Because we are a small team, we wanted no distractions while building the platform, and as many of you are aware running a TG is a job in its own right. We have several admins working for us now, but this was the rationale for not opening up the TG early. When a user asks a question and an admin isn’t there to respond this can hurt the project as many people from Day 1 come to simply fud. In terms of organic growth, we are utilizing the community since they are the ones who really support and believe in the project

the HAIR token smart contract been audited for security risks and contract base issues? Where do you get smart contract security support and how much do you care about it?

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:30:36 AM]:
Our initial 4 contracts were all audited by hashex and then our shaves were audited by techrate. Security and safety is extremely important to us. I am sure some of you are aware of the 12 million dollar rug pull that happened yesterday at afk. We actually were in contact with them the first week we launched and chose to not partner with them because their audit wasn’t complete. This is an example of us not sacrificing growth with security

Southeast Asia is a very vibrant market and many project developed here so what do you think about Southeast Asia and do you have any plan to develop here?

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:34:03 AM]:
Southeast Asia is a great spot for crypto and has an extremely vibrant community. That being said since we are a small team we are focusing on just English channels for now. One of our admins has helped translate everything to Spanish and we have a Spanish TG as well, but until we grow we want to make sure we are dedicating all of our time to building new features and establishing more partnerships. Once we have a bigger English TG we will explore the possibilities to branch out, but it’s better to have an active chat than multiple smaller ones.

Do you have any plans to add NFT’s to your ecosystem as this is the hottest topic in the crypto space???

MasterFu, [Sep 11, 2021 at 9:38:47 AM]:
We are planning to expand to this space and have started doing much more research into the contracts themselves as well as digging into possibilities such as morphing NFT’s based on time. All of this is in the initial phase, but NFC’s (non fungible cuts) are a key piece of the roadmap. We don’t want to rush into them as we want them to be unique and have value/ some utility rather than just something you can hold. Think staking, airdrops, etc…
